Most pieces are made to your specification once you order, in the metal, colour and size you choose. Some pieces are already made. Where yours is one of those, we will tell you and let you know as soon as it is ready to ship.

Allow 4 to 5 weeks from a confirmed, fully paid order, and a further 3 to 6 days for shipping. If your piece is already available it will be sooner, and we will tell you. If you have a date in mind, count backwards from it and tell us before you order.

Because most pieces are made for you rather than taken off a shelf. Payment commits the gold and the stones and releases the piece into production, so it is taken in full at the point of order.

Tell us as soon as you can. Before production starts, a change of metal, colour or size is usually straightforward. Once work has started, materials have been committed, so message us and we will tell you honestly what is still possible.

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. The factory is ours, so a one-off is a conversation rather than a special arrangement. Send a picture, a rough budget, and any carat weight or metal you already know you want.

Commissions are also where natural diamonds come in. The catalogue here is lab grown throughout, but if you want a mined stone we will source it and build the piece around it.

The number is how much pure gold is in the alloy: 10KT about 42%, 14KT about 58%, 18KT 75%. More gold means a richer colour and a higher price. Lower karat is harder and more hard-wearing; higher karat is warmer and softer. Neither is better.

For something worn every day and knocked about, 10KT or 14KT holds up well. For a piece where colour matters most, 18KT gives the deepest yellow. Tell us how it will be worn and we will give you a straight recommendation.

Platinum is denser than gold, so the same design takes more metal by weight, and platinum is more valuable per gram. The piece contains more value. It is not a surcharge.

No. Platinum is naturally white and we never plate it. For a white metal you can have white gold or platinum; for yellow or rose, that is gold.

White gold is an alloy finished with rhodium, which gives its bright white surface. That finish wears over years and can be redone. Platinum needs no such finish.

Yes. A lab grown diamond is a diamond: the same material, the same hardness, the same optics, grown rather than dug out of the ground. It is not a simulant like cubic zirconia or moissanite.

Yes. Every diamond in the catalogue is lab grown by CVD, without exception, and each product page says so.

Natural diamonds are a different route: we source them to order, as a commission. Tell us the carat, colour and clarity you want, or send us a stone you already own, and we will build the piece around it. Lab grown if you buy from the site; whichever you prefer if you commission.

Chemical vapour deposition. A diamond seed sits in a chamber of carbon-rich gas, and carbon settles onto it layer by layer until a rough diamond has grown. It is then cut and polished like any other rough.

They are the same material, so this is a question of budget and intent rather than quality. A lab grown stone of the same size and grade costs considerably less, which is why most customers put the difference into a larger stone or a better setting. A natural stone carries rarity and resale considerations a grown one does not. If that matters, say so and we will quote both.

They may be. Zambian and Colombian emerald, ruby, sapphire, tsavorite, topaz and aquamarine can be natural, and each product page says which stone is in that piece. Where a piece has both, the page names the gemstone and states that the diamonds are lab grown.

Ask us before you order and we will confirm what is available for that piece. It is not the same across everything we make, so we would rather check than promise it blanket-style.

Carat is a weight, not a size: one carat is 0.2 grams. Where a piece has many stones the figure quoted is the total, and for earrings the total across the pair. On a tennis bracelet the size of each stone matters as much as the total, so ask us for the per-stone figure.

Take a ring that already fits the finger you are buying for and measure straight across the inside of the band in millimetres. Send us that number and we will convert it and confirm it with you before we begin. Measure the inside, not the outside, use a decimal if you can, and measure from the correct hand.

US 3 to US 10 in quarter sizes, and US 3 to US 13 on the men's rings. Pick yours from the Ring size list on the product page and the price updates for you. The ring is made to that size, so settle it before you order.

Yes. A wide band sits tighter than a thin one at the same nominal size. If the ring you measured is noticeably wider or narrower than the one you are buying, mention it and we will allow for it.

Tell us the length in centimetres or inches and we build to it. For a bracelet, measure your wrist and allow a little room. If you own something that sits the way you like, measure that.

It depends on the piece. A plain band is straightforward; an eternity ring set the whole way round often is not, because there is no plain metal to work with. This is why we settle the size before we begin.

Returns are agreed individually rather than on an automatic window, because each piece is made to your specification. Read the refund policy before you buy, and if anything in it would change your decision, ask us first.

That is ours to put right. Contact us straight away with your order number and photographs and we will repair, remake or refund it. Shipping is insured, so transit damage is covered.

Keep it away from chlorine, perfume and hairspray. Clean it with warm water, a drop of washing-up liquid and a soft brush. Store pieces separately, because diamond will scratch the gold next to it.
